Flawed and Still Worthy

Growing up in the age of social media, it seems impossible to measure up. There are ads for weight-loss supplements, extremely photoshopped pictures of models, and Instagram influencer’s perfect (appearing) lives constantly being thrown in the faces of people young and old, and that’s just the beginning. There is a constant pressure to live up to an impossible-to-reach standard because of the “all eyes on you” aspect that is created by the world of social media. Because of this, it seems impossible to measure up; impossible to be enough.

You, my dear, are enough. You are worthy. You are beautiful. You are loved.

You are flawed, but your worth is found in the flawless love of Jesus.

Take a moment right now and think about your flaws; the things that you wish you could change. Think about what keeps you up at night whether it is something physical, spiritual, or emotional. It’s okay to notice your flaws, but find their beauty.

Now, think of God, your Father. Think about how he looks at you. How he sees your flaws, but still finds you worthy. How he loves you. How he created you in his own image. He created you to be his child.

Genesis 1:27 English Standard Version (ESV) 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

It’s okay to admit that you are not flawless. You are human. You have flaws. Some of your flaws are self-constructed. Others, like sin, are the result of temptation. Nonetheless, many of the things you see as flaws are the same things that others see as beautiful.

Sometimes, Satan will rips you apart. He will get inside of your head and convinces you that you are not worthy or enough. Whether this is a result of falling for temptation and facing the regret, or simply a deviant act that he is trying to pull off to make you feel insecure.

Do not worry about the acts of the enemy.

Jesus Christ thought you were to die for.

Romans 5:8 English Standard Version (ESV) 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God knows that you are worthy of love. He paid the ultimate sacrifice to show his love for you, a sinner in need of a savior. He allowed for his son to die in order for flawed humans to be able to receive salvation.

Although we are flawed, we are ALL still worthy of his love.

So dear brothers and sisters, build one another up instead of tearing each other down. Be real. Be open about what you are facing. Rejoice with one another in joyous moments. Mourn together during pain.

Refrain from using words to tear down others.

Instead, show the love of Jesus to everyone.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 English Standard Version (ESV) 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Linked below is a sticker that I designed for RedBubble. Go check it out for a friendly reminder that although we are flawed, He still sees us as worthy.
