Everything You Need For Christian Girl Autumn

It's officially the first day of autumn in the United States. Every social media platform has been full of posts bashing girls for how they dress during “Christian Girl Autumn” in comparison to "Hot Girl Summer." I personally love fall style and thought it would be fun to write a post with a list of must-haves instead of focusing on the social media criticism. I'm excited to write this first lifestyle post all about fall fashion.

Sweaters

  • My favorite places for sweaters are Nellie Mae Boutique, Altar'd State, A'Beautiful Soul, J.Crew, and T.J. Maxx. I usually order XL sweaters because I'm tall, and size X (10/12) from A'Beautiful Soul. A'Beautiful Soul is Altar'd State's sister company that carries size 10-24. J.Crew is my go-to for staple pieces that can be worn for years. Altar'd State, A'Beautiful Soul, and Nellie Mae carry trendier pieces that are in style. Shop on Nellie Mae's VIP facebook, and shop Altar'd State on Mission Monday because 10% of net profits go toward charitable causes.

Long Sleeve Dresses

  • Cozy dresses are a must have for fall. Some of my favorite places to get them are Nellie Mae Boutique, A'Beautiful Soul, and Old Navy. Solid colored dresses are perfect for layering with leggings, cardigans, and jean jackets.

Denim Jackets

  • I got the cutest denim jacket with star patches at Altar'd State this week! It's an oversized fit, so the large actually fit my arm length. I also suggest American Eagle and Old Navy for denim jackets. These are perfect for layering over a top, dress, or even t-shirt and leggings.

Cardigans

  • My new favorite cardigan is from Lilly Pulitzer, and perfect for fall. It comes in several colors, and it so cozy. You can find cozy cardigans almost anywhere this time of year, but T.J. Maxx and local boutiques are some of my favorite places.

Jeans

  • I'll be honest, I am not a fan of jeans. Regardless of this, they're a staple for a fall wardrobe. American Eagle and J.Crew tall jeans are my go-to pairs. They're as comfortable as a pair of denim can get, in my opinion.

Leggings

  • Leggings are a must have in the fall, and can be dressed up or down. My favorite are Aerie and Lululemon because of their length. Aerie makes athletic and loungewear leggings while Lululemon focuses on athletic wear.

Riding Boots

  • My favorite riding boots are by UGG, but they aren't made anymore. Tory Burch and DSW always have cute riding boots. These are perfect to wear over leggings and jeans when it gets cooler.

Booties

  • My favorite booties are by Toms. They're so easy to find at T.J. Maxx, Belk, et cetera. Riding boots look so cute with flared jeans and dresses.

Duck Boots

  • Duck Boots are a must have when facing the rain and snow. My L.L. Bean duck boots have been to ski resorts, walked through campus in rainstorms, conquered hiking trails, and they still look brand new. Sperry and Marley Lilly also make adorable duck boots.

Statement Earrings

  • If you know me, you know it's almost impossible for me to leave a store without grabbing a pair of earrings. My favorite places to buy earrings are Kendra Scott, Altar'd State, and Francesca's. Sign up for Kendra Scott email to get 50% off of one piece of jewelry during your birthday month.

A Starbucks Gift Card For Pumpkin Spice Lattes

  • I prefer tea or peppermint mochas, but it's PSL season and all of the pumpkin spice lovers are ecstatic. Upload your gift card to your app to get stars for free goodies. After all, coffee shop dates are the most cliche Christian dates.

A Cute Thermos

  • This goes with the PSL. I'm a sucker for a cute cup, and thermoses are a must have in the fall. My favorite are Yeti, Swell, and anything with a cute quote from boutiques and gift shops. Personalize your thermoses with stickers from RedBubble.

I hope everyone has a great autumn. Let me know your favorite autumn outfits in the comments or on @wonderfully.whitney on social media.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
